The UN system has launched the UN System Data Commons, an open-source platform built on Google's Data Commons technology and funded in part through Google.org grants to the UN Foundation. The platform consolidates statistics from across UN agencies into a single AI-ready knowledge graph, replacing what Google describes as months of manual data-wrangling work. Features include natural-language search, interactive visualizations, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support enabling AI agents to fetch and package data autonomously. All datasets are validated by UN statisticians. The UN system plans to include 80% of its statistical datasets by 2027. The platform is accessible at data.un.org.
