AWS announced general availability of Elastic Beanstalk Cluster Mode on September 17, 2026. The new mode runs multiple applications on shared Amazon EKS infrastructure, which AWS claims reduces per-application cost as portfolios scale. Teams can deploy source code, Dockerfiles, or container images across Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, and Go runtimes. AWS manages patching, scaling, and upgrades continuously. Included features: AI-powered troubleshooting, OpenTelemetry observability, traffic-splitting deployments with automatic rollback, and built-in HIPAA, PCI DSS, and SOC compliance. Standard EC2-backed environments remain supported alongside Cluster Mode. No additional Beanstalk charge applies; customers pay for underlying EKS, compute, and related resources.
