AWS Lambda Web Functions Run HTTP Apps Without Adapters or Rewrites

AWS adds three Lambda compute form factors, S3 reaches Vercel Marketplace with keyless auth.

AWS Lambda Web Functions, announced the week of October 19, 2026, lets developers deploy standard HTTP servers built with Express, Hono, Fastify, or Next.js directly to Lambda using a single CLI command, returning a live HTTPS URL in under a minute. AWS says no adapters or framework changes are required. Each execution environment handles up to 128 concurrent requests, and billing meters actual CPU time rather than wall-clock duration. Multi-region deployment and canary traffic splitting are available via the same command. Separately, Amazon S3 is now provisionable from the Vercel dashboard and v0, using short-lived OIDC tokens exchanged with AWS STS at runtime, eliminating stored static credentials. EC2 T8i instances also reached the São Paulo Region.
