Google announced several major AI updates in October 2026. Gemini 4 Argon, described as a frontier reasoning model, rolled out globally for coding, financial analysis, and legal workflows across Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and Google Cloud. Google also announced Gemini 4 Carbon, which the company says is its strongest model yet for cybersecurity defense and long-horizon engineering; Carbon is currently in pre-release testing with the U.S. government via the Fairwind Program. Genie 4, a new world model, targets real-time interactive simulation for robot training. Separately, Google reported a roughly 40-fold error reduction in quantum computing using magic state cultivation on its Willow processor, published in Science.
