Google Cloud and NVIDIA announced general availability of A5X instances next month, with planned expansion to Europe. The instances pair NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs with ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, Google Cloud's Virgo Network and fourth-generation liquid cooling. Google Cloud says it plans to scale the infrastructure to 960,000 Rubin GPUs across multiple sites. Ineffable Intelligence, founded by AlphaGo creator David Silver, was the first customer, using the platform for reinforcement learning research. WPP also demonstrated a creative agent architecture on A5X. Google Cloud additionally announced Confidential Computing availability on G4 VMs using RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs.
