AWS announced a public preview of Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents powered by OpenAI, built on a customized version of OpenAI's Agents API and integrated with AWS identity, permissions, and governance controls. Agents run on self-hosted compute or Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime. AWS also added four models to Bedrock: OpenAI GPT-6.1 Sol (agentic coding, per OpenAI at roughly one-fifth the cost of GPT-6 Astra), GPT-6 Astra UltraFast (up to 6x faster inference per OpenAI), Anthropic Claude Sonnet 5.5, and SpaceXAI Grok 4.7. Separately, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL now supports direct querying of Apache Iceberg and Parquet data without ETL pipelines.
